MX 573
Practice Track is located in Montrose,
PA, close to the boarder of NY and close
to Interstate 81. The track is 1 1/2 miles long
and is on 28 acres of rolling land. It consists
of
many jumps, some large, but most have by-passes as
a good many of our riders are families
that just like to ride and are not into
competition. Serious riders also come for
practice as the
track is located between Broome-Tioga
& Hurricane Hills.
There is rough camping at the track or motels in
Montrose with reasonable rates. There
are no showers at the track, but there is a
porta-john. Many out-of-state riders camp out
on Saturday night with a campfire. Alcohol is
allowed Saturday Night, but not during riding
times. Firewood is sold at the track for those
unable bring their own.
The track is groomed daily and is watered. Late
last year, 3,200 feet of water pipe was
installed.
Swimming in a pond on
hot summer days is available. Parts and
supplies are also available.
There are electrical hook-ups for motorhomes and
plenty of level parking. On most occasions,
the track is not crowded as most riders race on
weekends. At this track you ride whenever you
want and as long as you want, not in 15 minute
motos like some other tracks.
Montrose, PA is located in the Endless Mountains
region. If you look at the State of Pennsylvania,
Montrose is located in the upper right-hand
corner, just above Scranton, PA and just below
Binghamton, NY, very close to I-81. Its a
rural area of farms and rolling hills. Close to
the track
is Salt Springs State Park Consisting of hiking
trails and a series of waterfalls, these
waterfalls
are a must to climb. For the rest of the family
that doesnt ride, there are plenty of
activities at the
park, site seeing, and plenty of yard sales and
flea markets. So come out and enjoy a country
weekend and some good riding!
